The past two days we have blocked our scene from the Caucasian Chalk circle (pages 20- 22, where the Governer's wife is ordering around her servants and packing after there is a revolt and fire) - we have figured out staging, casting, and spent a fair bit of time wading around in the costume room trying to find the ruffliest, sparkliest, and most horrible dresses to use in our play. There will be a big contrast in the scene between the governor's wife (rich, spoilt, cruel) and the poorer class (servants, maids) - this will be done through contrasting costuming - sparkled and sequinned vs thin and brown clothing - as well as levels on stage and body characterisation etc.
We also did some more investigation into acting style in Epic theatre, and tried to apply that into our segment of the play.
